Mother of mercy.
You know it's been too long without college football when you find yourself at home on a Sunday afternoon watching a 1989 football game replay on VHS with your dad.
Unless you came out of the womb with a pulse for watching the MLB, then you, like me are about to go crazy raiding message boards for an ounce of information about next years season or praying for early commitments from 2009 High School seniors for your favorite team.
The sad thing is that there are millions of us doing this very thing. Per an ESPN insider who frequents one of these crazy message boards I waste a lot of time on, College Football Live or a form of it will be a year round show starting towards the end of July (22nd I believe) which will be a much needed reprieve from the drudgeries of a normal summer day. The show during the offseason will primarily concentrate on recruiting and how it is becoming the most significant part of the non football year.
As I sit and reminisce for a second about when I was first introduced to recruiting and the addiction it brings, I think of Forrest and Jamie on Countdown to Signing Day which seems like ages and ages ago. Who would've thought that the service of recruiting would blow up like it has. I think this past year it got more coverage than the NFL and NBA drafts combined. It is becoming a year round activity which is probably beginning to anger and will continue to anger wives and girlfriends alike for the next century.
Anywho, I'm going to try and update much more this go around. Last year, school was dominating me much like any SEC team that plays Ohio State and I had little to no time to react. Sorry had to get a jab in somewhere. ;)
Till next time.
